GT2201   Sterling Silver And Molten Glass Pear Paperweight

From our acclaimed collaboration with the famous English glass company Isle of White Studio Glass, this unique, aesthetically pleasing glass paperweight is finely hand crafted into a pear inspired design. Comprising blue glass with sterling silver leaves, it’s affectionately influenced by the well-known London phrase “Apples and Pears”. This delightful ornament brings to life the unity of two fine English companies.

    •    Sterling silver and molten glass pear paperweight
    •    Perfect anniversary gift or wedding present
    •    A bespoke, unique ornament

Dimension:  80 mm (3 1/8 inch) height;  50 mm (2 inch) length of leaf;   22 mm (7/8 inch) bottom diameter

How it’s made: Molten glass is spun and coloured vitreous enamel powder is added to the surface. The glass is then skillfully hand blown to form the required shape of the ornament. The unique and decorative, iridescent finish is achieved by applying an open flame to the glass and then spraying the object with a special chemical. Finally, skilled silversmiths carefully apply decorative sterling silver to the richly coloured glass. Due to this hand made processes, each item is unique and no two pieces are ever identical.
